"Ariel" is sired by Cascadian (SEATTLE SLEW x La Griffe, Prince John) and out of Very Often (Forceten x Kathie Jo, Raja Baba). She is a very laid-back and sweet mare. She was put into race training after maturing to her final height at the age of 4, but is unraced due to a scar on her hip that wouldn't allow her to fully extend to a gallop. She has been ridden by novice riders. 

 

Ariel foaled a beautiful chestnut colt by JUDGE CASH on April 1, 2016.

 

Ariel has been confirmed 28 days in foal as of 6/1/2016 to ATTICUS. He set a world record for the mile (1:31.89) and earned $1,205,933. He is by NUREYEV (leading sire of sires) and out of Athyka, by SECRETARIAT. He stands at Magali Farms in CA.

We had very high hopes for Ariel's in-utero foal. It had been years in the making. Unfortunately, Ariel colicked, had surgery, and then re-colicked severely on June 12, 2016 and was put down. She is very much missed.
