American Wagyu (Kobe) Beef & Cattle

Our cows and calves are raised at the ranch in Scio, Oregon, the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley. They eat Timothy & Alfalfa hay throughout the year that we grow and bale in Sisters. Our Wagyu group was purchased from Crescent Harbor Ranch in Oak Harbor, WA. They were all born in 2004. We also purchased 5 Black Angus heifers who surprised us a year later with Pinzgauer-cross calves. We still breed 2 of those each year and they all give us excellent calves.

Our cows and calves are not given hormones or unnecessary antibiotics. Our Wagyu cattle carry the excellent Japanese lines of CHR Hirashige 081L and CHR Fukutsuru 89. Our steers (and all of our cows) are fed healthy helpings of alfalfa daily and always have piles of grasshay waiting for them in the barn. We are proud of our herd and the calves they produce. We welcome visitors who would like to see our animals.
Cattle

Our herd consists of "Elmo", a 2004 Fullblood Wagyu bull and his 12 ladies. We have 5 high percentage 2004 Pureblood Wagyu, 5 2004 Black Angus, and 2 2006 Black Angus/Pinzgauer cows. Pictures of each are on their page. Follow the link below to see our herd.

We have had success crossing the Wagyu with Angus, and find that the Angus adds substance and size while maintaining the Wagyu marbling and famous tenderness.
